- Cream the butter and salt and rub it into the dough. Allow it to prove for 40 mins.
- Once the dough has risen, place it on a flat surface and knead lightly. Divide it in half, keeping half the dough covered, so it doesn’t form a skin.
- With a rolling pin, roll out half of the dough to about 1/2″ thickness. Cut with a round, sharp cookie cutter (about 3″ diameter) then make the holes with a smaller cookie cutter (about 1″ diameter), saving the holes. Place each doughnut on a butter paper.
- Cover it with moist cloth and place in the oven or hot place so that it rise doubled in size.
- Heat oil and fry them. Our doughnuts are ready. Dressed as you like.
